How we checked this
- “In all countries supported by Gemini Notebook, excluding the European Economic Area (EEA).” on Google Help: About notebooks in AI Mode in Google Search, seen 5 Nov 2026 (a page the company keeps updated)
- “excluding the European Economic Area (EEA).” on Google blog: 5 new ways to level up your learning with Search, seen 5 Nov 2026 (a dated page, which will not change)
- 5 Nov 2026 Google's supported list names the UK, and the exclusion is EEA only.
- 5 Nov 2026 More exact on what EU users miss; added Google's supported-countries page.
- 5 Nov 2026 Added Chrome Unboxed ("excluding the EEA") and the Keywords Everywhere tracker as independent publishers that back the EEA exclusion. This closes the one-publisher weak spot. No change to the public wording.
- 5 Nov 2026 New timer. Google's help page read today excludes the EEA. Start date is Google's 19 Aug 2026 post. No independent press source found for who is left out, so this has one publisher only: a known weak spot. Google's own footnote and help page agree. 9to5Google confirms the launch date but does not mention the EEA, so it is not tagged as backing who is left out.
